Congratulations to Vienne Laing, a junior at Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, Wis., and member at Trinity in Belle Plaine, Minn., for winning the Taste of Missions high school poster contest! In addition to winning a Taste of Missions swag bag and $250 Amazon gift card, her artwork will be displayed at Taste of Missions on June 15 and be included in the event program.
We thank the 36 students that took the time to learn about WELS Home, World, and Joint Missions and submit their amazing artwork! We also greatly appreciate the teachers, parents, and peers that encouraged these students to participate.
Vienne had this to share about her poster:
“I created this piece because of my love for God and my want to show that love through my artwork. I was inspired by the many WELS missions in different countries that have brought and still are bringing the word of God to people in need. Making this piece really made me think about how blessed I am to be able to go to church, read the Bible, and converse with others about the Word while other people might not be able to do the same. I hope that any viewers will be able to realize this too and remember that the Bible’s message is an amazing truth.”
